Emergency

Look how wide my eyes have grown
and how frantic I’ve become;
there’s a maniac outside
and something must be done.

The world may be ending
it’s true the end is nigh
and still you just sit there
while I let out a cry.

Don’t tell me it’s alright
and that this person is fine
when she’s mowing the lawn
while I attempt to dine.

So nonchalant you are,
but very soon you’ll see
just how serious this is
and come and hide with me.

Company of You

Do you remember
when I held you in my arms
and told you the world
was no one’s but ours?
So many nights have passed
and many miles too
since my nights were spent
in the company of you.
Dropped calls and texts,
your face on a little screen
and six hours of blacktop
until you and I is more than a dream.

#tbt

The apocalypse is not nigh,
it is here;
open your eyes
and look into fear.
The end is not coming
it has arrived;
double check your phone
and try to survive.
The world is barren
and the network is dust
but by all means,
post a selfie if you must.

Blip

I think about how
you are such a tiny blip
on the radar of my life
and still it seems
you enter my thoughts
more than others might.

I think about how
I will never see you again,
I don’t know your last name,
where you work,
where you live,
where you’ve been.

But still I think
and I ponder
and I dream
and I wonder.
Do you ever
do the same?

Wise

I think I’ve figured it out,
just what it all means,
life, love
and all the in betweens.
I’ve got the solution,
it’s as clear as day,
I saw the resolution,
back when I was a stray.
I know all,
and I see it too,
I can spot the fools,
that’s why I chose you.
