That phone doesn’t purr
and that television,
well it has no fur.
That book may be good
but I am better
so you should
put that down
and play with me;
I wear the crown
so don’t make a peep
since now you can
watch me sleep.

The door is locked
the lights are out
the stove is off
I know my route.
The air is on
the water is fresh
the food is plenty
still you take my flesh.
I’ve cleaned your box
and I’ve pet your head
what’s that you say?
I forgot to make the bed?
Purring is my favorite thing to do
aside from sleeping
and of course scratching you.
Since tomorrow is my birthday, here is my wish list. Please send my gifts immediately.
-1 mouse who is too tired to run
-Fish
-5 blankets (I only have 5, so I can double my sleeping spots with this gift)
-Tuna
-Peace & quiet
-Some sort of device that can be used to destroy combs and brushes
-A universal remote that is paw-friendly so that I can turn off the television when it interrupts my hunting.
-Muzzles for my people
-Tuna and fish
-10 empty cardboard boxes or 10 boxes of tuna
Really, if you would care to send me a gift, send something useful along to the shelter from which I was rescued. There are other cats and pups who may be in need of a new home and food, but at least they don’t have to put up with the terrible servants that I have!
My girl asked me if she could blog on Sunday! That’s my day! She gives me one day and now she wants to take that away from me. Well I will show her, I am blogging on her day this week! She has all these rules for me that she expects me to follow, such as:
Well here is my list of rules for you, girl:
Ugh, she’s like a broken record
and she just won’t quit.
I can’t get a second of peace;
her voice, I don’t like one bit.
All I want to do is sleep
can’t she see that I have settled in?
Her voice rings through my dreams
there is no way for me to win.
And when I actually want her,
she has the nerve to fall asleep
sometimes I dare not wake her
since finally, I hear not a peep.
She must set a world record
for being oh so cute.
Every second with her is peaceful;
for her gentle purr, there is no substitute.
All I want to do is tell her
how she has settled in my heart.
She is all I ever dream of
and I never want to part.
I always want her near
and hope she stays awake
for when she is asleep
she makes my heart ache.
I feel as though
I may have slept
in this very spot
that’s so well kept.
I see some fur
and there’s a dent;
my scent is here
under the tent.
There are not many
spots I’ve just not been;
it’s hard to keep track,
I know there are more than ten.
So slumber here I shall
since I’ve much to do.
I may already have before
unless this is déjà mew.
It’s mother’s day. My cat mom deserves no prizes, but here are some cards we could be giving to our human moms.
