If I awoke tomorrow
without any strength,
would you still wait
or even go the length?
If I fell to my knees
and could not carry on,
would you pick me up
and for once, be strong?
If I needed you
the way you need me,
would you finally realize
the person you could be?

Night is Young
The night was young
and I was weak,
what’s your excuse?
The day is long
and all you seek,
is it really love?
The bed springs
slowly creak,
dawn grows near.
Not a word
still you speak,
I hear you.
The night was young
and I was weak,
is that your excuse?

Onslaught
Each day begins
with the onslaught of pain
and the struggle to rise
without the hope of gain.
So you push and you push
until you no longer can
and then comes the day
when you no longer stand.

Maybe it was the smoke
or the flames burning brightly.
Maybe it was the moon
or the stars shining rightly.
Maybe it was your eyes
or how you held me tightly.
Maybe it was the way
you touched me so lightly.
Maybe it’s how I miss you
daily and nightly.

Old Movies
We watch the old films
since they hold the most substance.
Oh, those were the days.

A coffee shop,
a parking lot,
another pointless
plot.
An evening out,
just for clout,
and to prove
without a doubt
there is no you
and me.

Happy
A smile, a laugh, a semblance of glee.
All things you wish,
you could see in me.
I can’t, I won’t, it’s just not right
to give you hope
in this pointless plight.

Too Much
Has anyone told you you’re annoying?
Because I am certain that you are.
Has anyone told you to leave?
I’d love if you went far.
Has anyone told you your voice
is just too much to hear?
When you are around me,
one thing is very clear.
I’d love nothing more than to tell you
that your noise is just too much
but I’d rather just be sleeping
and dreaming of mice and such.

Congratulations, Mimi and Rachael!
Love can be a tricky thing,
sneak up on you,
sight unseen.
Once it grabs you tight,
you grab it back,
with all your might.
And so the ride begins,
follow your heart,
and you’ll always win.

I Would
I’d buy you a drink
if I knew you wouldn’t throw it in my face.
I’d take you home
if I knew we wouldn’t regret it in the morn.
I’d give you my number
if I thought there was a chance you’d call.
I’d give you my heart
if I thought you’d leave her for me.
