No greener grass could grow
than that of my own creation.
Go on, Winter, bring your snow
my grass will grow with elation.
I used to look out the window
and get this kind of sensation
that the grass was greener below
and I would have a temptation.
But now, I most certainly know
it’s not love and dedication
or that I’m reaping what I sow,
it seems to be about hydration
trust me, I’m a cat, I know.
Mother Nature is bipolar
at least as of late she seems.
One minute she is frigid
the next a hellfire gleams.
Did she fall off her meds
or did she simply misplace
a treatment for her condition
which is now a mental case?
No, Mother Nature is not to blame
seeing as she is the victim
of human nature’s game.
Though it seems over,
Here remains what has been
Uncovered by what came before.
Racing now only seems to
Slow the pace of the
Diligent laborer
Asking, “who are
You?”
The raw truth is that
you can make me or break me.
One simple smile seems
so innocent but faintly
below that heart-melting
and flashing smile
is something darker
and it lingers a while.
So love me or destroy me
I give my heart just the same.
The chances I am taking
could leave my heart maimed
and still I would rather risk
what little I have on you
because it’s that damn smile
that makes me do what I do.
Procrastination
is just Nature’s clever way
of saying slow down.
Twenty-six years ago today,
twin stars were born
each has made her way.
Together or apart
the two continue to shine
brighter than at the start.
What has become clear,
at least to those who
hold one or both near,
is that stars they are not
for that is simply too mundane
when we are dealing with universes
and not anything so plain.
The only thing worse
than a broken heart
is one that’s been mended
and again broken apart.
There is a winter scene
painted on canvas before me.
A single light illuminates
a snow covered tree.
There is a winter scene
full of life out the window.
The cars bustle and the people
bundle as the snow piles grow.
There is a winter scene
deep within my soul.
The longer I go without you
the more my heart is not whole.
Who decided that
Each week needs a middle?
Dragging on, we
Never expect to reach the
End
So we
Desperately
Attach ourselves to the idea that
Yesterday is gone.
I see you out there,
no matter what those people say
I can see you and smell you
there is no getting away.
You may think you are clever
and that into the dark you blend
but never forget that a feline
has a nose on which to depend.
So slink away into the night
or stop a while and stare,
but I will always find you
even when my people are not aware.
