You can blame me all you want

but I know exactly where I stand.

The faults I have in your eyes

are what truly make me grand.

So pass your judgement quickly

because I have no time for you.

While you wallow in that pity,

I know what is true.

Click

I remember in the third grade,

I wrote a poem which received

such praise from all around

I thought I had it made.

They put me up on the stage

and had me read the lines

and when I reached the end

my words were all the rage.

Applause erupted throughout

the auditorium and through

the halls, barely contained

within the walls. I could shout.

Now, I know just the trick

to writing what others like,

and the praise comes not in applause,

but rather, with a simple click.

Tick…Tock

Time is the one resource

that can never be replenished.

No matter what efforts are put forth,

we run the clock ’til it’s diminished.

The time has come to stop

counting the seconds, the minutes, the hours.

May the priorities found at the top

be the moments and the people we call ours.

Something to Say

Some combination of words

written on a blank slate

can move a single being

in an unexpected way.

A writer searches within

for the right words

that are needed for

the message he must convey.

That search can last forever

and that slate could remain blank

for the writer’s greatest fear,

what if he has nothing to say?
